REDTIDE Environment design

Set in the fictional world of the (soon-to-be) graphic novel, ‘Red Tide’, readers will follow the story through a futuristic North America. Divided by sector walls meant to shield the remaining cities from the flood waters, the ‘United Nations’ and its populations have been forced inwards following the 40-year-long blackout. During which catastrophic geo-storms forced humans underground or inland.

Building 77 Lobby

The entrance level to Building 77 is located in Sector 4 of the United Nations. On the exterior, it appears to be nothing more than a corporate building in the financial district. However, Building 77 is home to one of the few underground black sites specializing in the genetic modification of marine life. It’s also one of four remaining holders to Specimen X, the same family of Jellyfish that happened to get swept away into the storm tunnels, where Avila Edelle is later entangled in its remains.

BLACKSITE 02

The main atrium of the underground Blacksite (2) is beneath Building 77. Located 200 feet beneath ground level.

Though in part destroyed by the floods, it never collapsed and used the cover of catastrophe to continue hidden operations and experiments.

The Storm Tunnels

A nationwide network of underground tunnels linking old train routes and sewer systems.

How Pathfinder Unit 66 sneaks past Sector walls through routes thought too treacherous for any human to traverse. This scene takes place in the Northeast, in the graveyard of pre-blackout train cars.

The luna bay

When Aiya Inez (27) learns of her Aunt Maribel’s passing, she also discovers her inheritance of ‘The Luna Bay’: a roadside drink hut nestled in the dense hills of The Berkshires, Massachusetts. Still carrying resentment over Maribel’s disappearance from the family, Aiya agrees to honor her aunt’s final request: keep the hut running for one last summer and try to understand why she stayed.

The only rules? Turn the sign on at exactly 11:00 p.m and off at 4:00 a.m. Never serve any drink upset.

And, don’t stare.

Crockery Set

Inspired by pomegranates and the satisfying, crimson gradient of the seeds.

Marble Skull

inspired by October and the Halloween festivities, which are something to look forward to each year.

3D DESIGN
